Bachelor of Physiotherapy

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a professional undergraduate healthcare program designed to train students in the assessment, prevention, management, and rehabilitation of physical movement disorders and functional limitations. The course provides a strong foundation in human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, pathology, pharmacology, and rehabilitation sciences. Students learn how the human body moves and how therapeutic techniques can be used to improve mobility, strength, flexibility, coordination, and functional independence. Practical and clinical training forms a major part of BPT education. Students gain hands-on experience in physiotherapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy modalities, manual therapy, posture assessment, gait training, and rehabilitation under qualified professionals. Students may receive clinical exposure in areas such as orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, pediatrics, geriatrics, sports physiotherapy, and community rehabilitation. The course also develops skills in patient assessment, treatment planning, documentation, communication, and professional healthcare practice. After completing BPT and the applicable internship and registration requirements, graduates can work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physiotherapy clinics, sports and fitness facilities, nursing homes, healthcare organizations, and other rehabilitation settings.
