BA LLB is a 5-year integrated undergraduate law degree designed for students who want to pursue a legal career directly after completing Class 12. Unlike a conventional 3-year LLB pursued after graduation, BA LLB combines undergraduate arts education with professional legal studies in a single integrated program. The course provides students with a broad understanding of law, society, politics, economics, history, and legal systems. Alongside arts and social science subjects, students study core areas of law such as constitutional law, contract law, criminal law, torts, family law, property law, company law, administrative law, and civil procedure. Practical legal education is an important part of the BA LLB curriculum. Students may participate in moot courts, legal research, client counselling, legal aid activities, internships, debates, drafting exercises, and mock trials. These activities help students develop legal reasoning, research, communication, argumentation, and drafting skills. The program can also provide exposure to specialized areas such as corporate law, intellectual property rights, cyber law, environmental law, human rights law, international law, banking law, taxation law, and alternative dispute resolution. BA LLB graduates can pursue careers in litigation, corporate legal departments, law firms, legal consultancy, compliance, government organizations, judicial services, legal research, and public policy. Students who wish to practice as advocates must fulfill the applicable professional requirements, including enrollment and the required qualification process prescribed by the relevant authorities.
