Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering

B.Tech Chemical Engineering is a professional undergraduate engineering program that combines chemistry, physics, mathematics, and engineering principles to develop and manage industrial processes for converting raw materials into useful products. The program provides students with a strong foundation in chemical engineering fundamentals such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer, chemical reaction engineering, process calculations, and process control. Students learn how industrial chemical processes are designed, operated, optimized, and maintained safely and efficiently. Practical learning is an important component of the course. Students work in chemical engineering laboratories and learn to conduct experiments involving chemical reactions, fluid flow, heat transfer, distillation, filtration, absorption, drying, and other industrial processes. Students also gain exposure to process equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, and process-control systems. Modern tools such as process simulation software and computer-aided process design are also used to understand and optimize industrial operations. The course has applications across a wide range of industries, including petroleum and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, polymers, food processing, specialty chemicals, paints, cement, energy, biotechnology, and environmental engineering. B.Tech Chemical Engineering graduates can work in process engineering, production, quality control, plant operations, process safety, research and development, environmental management, and technical consulting roles.
