B.Tech Agricultural Engineering is a professional undergraduate engineering program that combines engineering principles with agricultural sciences to develop modern and efficient solutions for farming, irrigation, food processing, and agricultural resource management. The program focuses on applying engineering and technological concepts to improve agricultural productivity, reduce manual labour, optimize resources, and support sustainable farming practices. Students learn about agricultural machinery, farm power, irrigation systems, soil and water conservation, agricultural structures, food processing, and post-harvest technology. Practical learning is an important part of the course. Students work with tractors, agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, soil-testing equipment, farm implements, food-processing equipment, greenhouse systems, and precision farming technologies. The course also provides exposure to emerging technologies such as precision agriculture, drones, GPS and GIS, remote sensing, smart irrigation, IoT-based farming, agricultural automation, robotics, renewable energy, and sensor-based crop monitoring. Students learn how to design, operate, maintain, and optimize agricultural equipment and systems. They also study methods for reducing post-harvest losses and improving the processing, storage, packaging, and quality of agricultural products.
